Eco-friendly motorcycle is a very new concept that supports environment conservation. The world cannot move a day without energy. Our primary sources of energy have been fossil fuels. However, the reserves of these non-renewable fuels have been overexploited and are threatened to be depleted or extinct before the scientists stipulated. Ongoing emissions from the industries, transportation vehicles and residential set-ups have pushed the environment to its edge, where it has started showing nefarious impacts. The common name of this impact is Global Warming, which means there has been an increase in the average temperature of the earth that has had impounding effects. Similarly, they have a lower carbon footprint than other automobiles so it would be easier to make them carbon neutral. These bikes are made from ultra light materials like those that fiber used in making the body, light metals and serious efforts are poured into the engineering of these motorcycles. The mileage of newly developed eco-friendly bikes is also very impressive. Electric motorcycles and scooters, hydrogen motorcycles, hydrogen fuel cell powered motorcycles, biodiesel motorcycles, ethanol driven motorcycles, gas powered motorcycles are the shining examples of eco-friendly range of bikes and scooters.

To keep the performance barometer high in these green motorcycles innovation in design in the form of weight reduction, low aerodynamic drag, digital circuitry and minimum friction has been used. Mostly they are being developed on the lines of hybrid motorcycles as of now. It is to test them as well as increase the awareness among people about them to prepare ground for their commercial launch. However, electric or battery powered motorcycles and scooters have been launched into the markets and have become very popular in a short time.

The future of two-wheeler transport lies in the alternate fuels. It requires motorcycle-manufacturing companies to put in serious efforts into their research and development to design engines that are powerful and at the same time fuel-efficient as well as carbon neutral.
